Funny Christmas Songs Have Always Been a Part of Christmas
Most families nowadays still feel the urge to sing carols on Christmas Eve and Christmas day. Along with the traditional religious songs, most of us know lots of contemporary funny Christmas songs that refer to subjects inspired by the coming of Santa Claus or the family life during Christmas.
Funny Christmas Songs background
I would be shocked to find out that there still are persons out there that don't know what funny Christmas songs are, but for those that really have no idea what I'm talking about, it's indicated to define somehow the funny Christmas songs. They are mainly original Christmas songs that are inspired by the traditional ones, and the way they are sang and the word that go along with them can vary from region to region.
The song called "I saw mummy kissing Santa Claus" present the mixed emotions of a little girl that sees her mother kissing her daddy while he is dressed as Santa. She is all upset and doesn't understand how come, and the situation created is very funny for grown-ups and kids that already know that Santa doesn't exist in reality.
Another funny Christmas song is "All I Want for Christmas Is My Two front Teeth". As the title suggests, the song is about a very special wish a kid has for Santa. He doesn't want toys and such as other kids his age, he only wants his teeth because he can't properly talk and people make fun of him. Of course, the song has to be sung in way a 7 year old child without his front teeth would sing it, and this fact makes it one of the funniest Christmas songs ever.
Nowadays a new breed of funny Christmas songs appeared: the parodies. These songs choose a certain traditional Christmas song and basically make fun of it. In the song "Rudolph the Red-Nosed reindeer" the author added certain funny lines to complete the experience and make it a funny Christmas song for kids to sing and laugh along.
The song "Grandma Got Run Over by a reindeer" is another example of reindeer fun. This song is sang by an adult that remembers how a long time ago when she came to visit them for Christmas, his old grandma was run over by a reindeer. If before that he didn't really believe there was a Santa, now he does and tells the whole world to believe.
Also, the classic song "12 days of Christmas" has various versions that make it a funny Christmas song. Inspired authors added lyric that describe the annoying marathon before Christmas, trying to get everything ready in time, to find the perfect gifts, to decorate the entire house and so on.
