The Christmas Recipe has Deep Roots

During Christmas time we are all looking forward to spending time with friends and family, and in every house we will find a small gathering of interconnected souls. But the warm Christmas felling isn't just related to spiritual matters, it also defines a much palpable component part: the Christmas food and along with it a very special Christmas recipe that every household embraces dearly. Christmas time is a solemn religious event but it's also an excuse for us all to escape the everyday routine and enjoy ourselves over a marvelous dinner.

If asked, I'm sure that most people would deny the fact that they love Christmas simply because it's a time when good food is displayed on any table. Nevertheless, it's a true fact, people eat more on Christmas and most of them follow an inherited family Christmas recipe when preparing their food. If caught eating like that during any other time of the year, we would be referred to as greedy, gluttony infested persons. But the seasonal practice makes others understand the need to relish a traditional Christmas recipe and we are indulged when eating more than we can handle.

The Christmas recipe, between Tradition and Pleasure

How can we tell when something has been prepared using a secret Christmas recipe? After all, the world is full of delicious food preparing recipes. In truth, the food is special not only because it's been specially prepared for Christmas, but also because the respective recipe is buried deep within the roots of that respective family and every family member knows it and enthusiastically anticipates savoring it over Christmas dinner. This is the point when tradition comes forward to make Christmas recipes so special. In every family, the cook is known to prepare a special Christmas treat, a cookie, a steak or maybe the main course. Everyone knows that, and because the respective recipe is used only at Christmas time, they are all looking forward to it. This way, while enjoying their Christmas dinner, people also enjoy past Christmas experiences, through the help of memories and discussions provoked by the consuming of that particular food.
